#14 Dating Apps

*sigh*

Dating Apps.

There are many Christians who are okay with dating apps. They think there's nothing wrong in trying to find a date, perhaps 'the one', on a dating app. Let me let you in on something: dating apps are not of God. It doesn't matter how these "Christians" try to prove that dating apps are fine, it's not. Even if the dating app is for Christians, it's still not of God.

How?

1. “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our focus should not be to look for a date, especially on any kind of dating app. Dating is a want and desire. Most times we try to handle it in our way and was never called to do so.

Our focus should be on God and what He has called us to do in this moment. Our eyes must shift off dating and on to the will of God. Will He sooner or later give you everything you need.

Remember God brings what you need in His timing.

2. “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is clear. Many Christians overlook the wicked and sinful behavior, of the worlds ideal of a relationship or, of a person they want to date because they desire them (more than God and His will). It's like watching a beautiful water fountain get muddied by a mud slide. It's the same way for a godly person who dates an ungodly person. You're on a slippery slope that'll lead to a sad end.

God is telling us here that those who live a clean, healthy, godly, mature life are not compatible with those who live an unclean, unhealthy, ungodly and immature life.

(Dating apps are worldly, created from worldly thinking.)

Pray about the person and be observant of who they really are (and I'm not talking about a blind date. I'm referring to you being in a Jesus-Centered, Holy Ghost fired up church, giving your life to Christ and living righteously. Then pray for God to show you the right godly woman/man to pursue, or wait for, and lead you to handle it the right way). You don't want to marry someone who is far from living for God and live in an unhappy relationship/marriage.

3. “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God will direct your steps because He goes before you. He "delights in every detail of" your life. He will lead you to the right person. He will! You must trust Him!

It's not your place to force something to happen. When you do, you'll be unhappy. But with God, your relationship (won't be perfect but it) will bring good to you and glory to God.

God cares about who you date. He does! Let Him do His job and you do your job. Stay focused on the task He has entrusted to you and watch God move in a way you never thought possible.

Delete the app(s) and trust God.

Have a great weekend peeps! 😜🤙🏼

Scripture of the Weekend: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
