How can we retain physical growth if we're not willing to seek and retain spiritual growth? There has to be a willing mindset and wholehearted love in the Lord to accept His challenging spiritual growth in us. It won't be easy, but like He says in Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." We are to be the body of Christ, but if the body of Christ has no strong endurance in spiritual growth, the body is weak then. The church is weak then. Sharpening, which is one of many steps for spiritual growth, isn't the greatest feeling, but it's what builds a spiritually functional and strong body.

The many quantities of the body will not help the body function. It is the godly quality of spiritual growth through Jesus that we learn to be resilient. Our performance of spiritual or no spiritual growth will be projected through our actions. It'll show what fruit is in our heart. Good or bad fruit. Some may be eating from a tree but it ain't the tree of life. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil produces fruit such as: jealousy, anger, fear, anxiety, doubt. But the fruit of The Spirit produces fruit such as: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. When we stay in step with The Spirit, we then can grow in the Spirit.

As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:11, "When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned like a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things." The childish things is living spiritually asleep. The childish things are playing games, seeking to please ourselves and to impress this world. So many are spiritually asleep, even in the church. There too is spiritual death, but even there, in death, God can raise them from the grave. My Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and THE LIFE! He is life! Just one word from Him, a flow of life begins to revive the dying spirit and brings a new thing of purpose within the soul. Nothing is too hard for my Jesus.

Let not the spirit fall asleep or slowly become dead. Watch out from being stagnant! Run to Jesus consistently. He will give you life and life more abundantly!

Be blessed.
